Are you searching for a new book on philosophy? Why not a get to know the thinkers behind some of the most interesting philosophical theories and discussions of the 20th century? “Philosophers in Conversation: Interviews from the Harvard Review of Philosophy,” is a great introduction to contemporary philosophy for just about anyone interested in the subject including professionals in the field. I got to edit it, and I think you will enjoy it. It features conversations with thirteen of today’s leading philosophers including Michael Sandel, Cornel West, Umberto Eco, and Hilary Putnam.
The subjects in the interviews cover several different philosophical concepts, including political philosophy. Harvey C. Mansfield, Richard Rorty, and John Rawls all discuss political philosophy and everyday politics. When it comes to philosophy and literature, the interviews with Eco, Cavell, Cornel West, and Nehamas provide an exploration of the subject. Philosophy and its relation to religion are also talked about in many of the interviews.
Gathered from the review between 1991 and 2002, all of the interviews in this anthology were conducted by Harvard students and staff members of the review.
